The first season of Modern Warfare 4 started on November 6, 2026 and brought new maps, modes, weapons and Operators to multiplayer, plus a new area in DMZ. This article, written by the SequeLariCOD team, organizes everything the official season post confirmed, published on the Call of Duty blog on October 28, 2026. We only use what the source says: when the post gives no date or number, neither do we. The Warzone details are in a separate guide, linked at the end.
When it started and what came first
According to the official post, Season 1 went live at midnight US Eastern Time on November 6, which is 2 a.m. the same day in Brasília time. The launch was simultaneous on every platform. Before that, the season had already started to show up bit by bit: the Shipment map arrived on October 27 as an early preview, and two party modes joined on the following days, one on October 29 and another on October 30. Anyone who played on those days already saw part of the content before the official date.
The post also makes it clear that the season has two phases. The first is the launch, with everything described below. The second is the mid-season update, called Season 1 Reloaded, which will bring more maps, modes, events and Operators. The source gives no date for this second phase, so our calendar keeps it as "no date" until Activision announces one.
The new multiplayer maps
Three 6v6 maps arrived at launch, all medium-sized. Backstab is a new map in a snow-covered city, with abandoned vehicles and long streets, good for players who like to see far. Canyon is also new and sits in a desert, with rock walls, a river, a cave and a raised central area that often decides who controls the map. Shoot House is a new take on the classic training map, now set in Korea, keeping the idea of three main lanes.
Shipment, which arrived before the season, is the remade version of the small map famous for its containers in a port, where matches are fast and everyone runs into each other all the time. The post also mentions a fixed combination of the block mode, called Crash, which stays the same every round and appears in other playlists, including Search and Destroy.
For mid-season, the post already revealed two names. Ministry takes place at an international peace summit, and Overflow is a factory surrounded by farmland, with rocket launchers in the distance. More maps are coming, but their names have not been revealed yet. Every map mentioned has its own page on our site, with the source and the date we checked it.
Modes that arrived and modes on the way
The season brought back some familiar modes. In Grind, each team collects tags from opponents and has to carry them to a bank to score, which forces the team to pick the right moment to take a risk. In Drop Zone, teams fight over an area that moves from time to time and gives reward packages to whoever holds it. Infected, the mode where one team grows while the other tries to hold out until the end, returned in the pre-season, together with a new party mode.
At mid-season, according to the source, Counter Attack arrives, where the goal is to take a charge to the other team's comm station while protecting your own. The post also talks about a new variant of Team Deathmatch, still without a published name.
New weapons and when they appear
Two weapons arrived with the season, through the battle pass. The Cronen Osprey assault rifle sits at battle pass tier 16 and has its own Apex attachment. The CSG-35 submachine gun sits at tier 36 and also has an Apex attachment, which lets you use two weapons at once. Planned for mid-season are the fully automatic JAK 12 shotgun, which will be an event reward, and the ZLR Talonhawk axe for melee, also from an event.
Besides full weapons, the post lists new parts that change existing weapons, such as a full-auto conversion for the Hyeon Burst, an Apex attachment for the Kastov 762 and a burst conversion for the M4. Since the source gives no damage or fire rate numbers, our site does not show those numbers either. Every weapon mentioned has its own page, and in the "Class guide" tab we explain what the Apex attachment is for when the official source names it.
Operators and the battle pass
Two new Operators arrived at launch. Blix comes through the battle pass and XERO is part of BlackCell, the most complete version of the pass. The season pass has one hundred levels in a row and, according to the post, players with the paid version who fall behind are automatically moved up to the reward of the day, until day 50 of the season. The post also promises extra cosmetics for those who complete the pass, with details only at mid-season.
A tip from SequeLariCOD for younger players: the battle pass and BlackCell are optional in-game purchases. Talk to the adult who looks after you before buying anything, and be wary of sites or profiles that promise free points or items, because that is usually a scam. SequeLariCOD will never ask for your login, password or account details.
Events and DMZ
The season also has camo events, where playing matches earns experience and weapon cosmetics, and a group event called Joint Fire, where playing with a full squad raises the experience bonus. More events are planned for mid-season, with no date in the source.
In DMZ, the extraction mode, the big news is Designation X01, an underground facility near Hajin, with tunnels, labs and a sealed vault. There are new missions guided by the character Ghost, new bosses to face, an operations base with a store and a pass station, and mission events that ask you to collect parts over several matches. If you prefer Warzone, take a look at our interactive Hajin map, right next door.
How to follow the rest of the season
The dates that already exist are on our calendar, with a countdown and a link to the official source. When Activision publishes the Season 1 Reloaded post, we will update the mid-season maps, modes, weapons and Operators, always with the date we checked. Meanwhile, you can favorite the new weapons and maps in your collection, vote in the rankings and test what you learned in the daily quiz.
